6. Look through the eyepiece lens
down through the tube. Adjust the coarse
focus to move the objective lens away from
the slide until the object becomes visible.
(Always use the lowest magnifying-
powered objective lens first since it is more
convenient to focus the object with the
lens).

7. Look through the eyepiece lens

opening both eyes. Adjust the fine focus to from the slide until the object becomes visible
fine-tune the image. The slide may be slightly
moved to align the object to the center.

8. If the image needs to be
enlarged, align the objective lenses with
medium and highest magnifying powers
with the tube, respectively (a click will
sound). Look through the eyepiece lens and
fine-tune the image with the fine focus
each time.
