2. Align the objective lens with
the least magnifying power with the tube
vertically.

3. Adjust the mirror under the stage
plate to fully let light through the tube, or
turn on the illuminator if available.

4. Place a prepared slide of the
observing cells or tissues on the stage plate.
Align the cells of tissues with the light. Make
sure that the slide and the cover slip are
completely dry before placing them on the
stage plate.

5. Look at the side of the microscope
and slowly adjust the coarse focus to draw
the objective lens closer to the cover slip,
but be careful not to let the lens touch the
cover slip.
