Max: Have you heard of Theodore Roosevelt?
Wendy: Yes, I have. He was the President of the United States.

Max: What was he like?

Wendy: He was kind.

Max: Why?

Wendy: Once in November 1902, Theodore Roosevelt was invited to go on
a bear hunt in Mississippi. While he was in the woods, he saw a small

bear cub. The president couldnʼt shoot it because he was too kind.
A toy maker, named Morris Michton, made a small toy bear and he
named it ‘Teddy’ af ter the president because that was Roosevelt’s

nickname. That is how the much loved teddy bear came to be.
